Mount Isa Mines will offer this position on a 5:2/4:3 or 8/6 residential roster where you can come home every day and enjoy a thriving town of 23,000 people. The Role
Reporting to the Metallurgy Superintendent, you will provide technical support to the Zinc Concentrator processing activities to deliver the business strategy. You will uphold Glencore values as you create capability within the metallurgy team by leading, developing and mentoring technical personnel. This will be a full-time permanent role that offers an attractive remuneration package and benefits including market related superannuation and a strong focus on continuing your professional development.
Your key responsibilities include:
o Provide technical support to Concentrator Operations and maintenance to drive process improvements and deliver set production targets on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
o Responsible for inspections, failure predictions and technical analysis on critical equipment
o Support the Mine-Mill-Smelter value chain strategy
o Provide leadership and guidance to promote a culture of safety and personal development of Metallurgists
o Optimize plant efficiencies through a view of continuous improvement at reduced operational costs
The successful applicant will have:
o 4+ years experience in Mineral Processing plants with a strong operations background and base metals exposure in grinding and flotation
o Demonstrated metal accounting and reconciliation experience
o Technical knowledge in laboratory testwork techniques and managing plant surveys
o Sound process improvement capabilities
o Experience working with online analysers (OSA/MSA/PSI)
o Demonstrated ability to work safely in a Concentrator and to lead by example to a professional team
o Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels
