Aon South Africa is hiring a Client Manager within the Commercial Risk team; this is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Durban office.

The role of the Client Manager is to build and improve day to day client relationships, manage portfolios of client accounts and provide technical expertise to less experienced employees. The Client Manager will manage portfolios concentrated in Transport & Logistics, including motor fleet, heavy commercial vehicles (HCV), goods in transit and related liability covers.

What the day will look like

* Achieve new business targets as outlined.
* Lead, develop and continuously improve the day‐to‐day client relationship.
* Take responsibility for a portfolio of client accounts and manage/co‐ordinate all related activities, including building and maintaining a detailed client profile, risk information and needs analysis.
* Prepare pre‐renewal and renewal documentation, including sending renewal notifications to clients.
* Arrange and conduct client meetings (face‐to‐face or virtual).
* Where required, structure insurance programs to meet clients' needs, including producing policy documentation and claims‐related reports.
* Contribute to renewal meetings and fee negotiations.
* Update Aon Connect and Salesforce daily with new leads and opportunities from Aon's various marketing campaigns and from ongoing client interaction.
* Attend bi‐weekly/monthly Aon Connect and forecast meetings.
* Contribute towards achieving new business targets using both existing client referrals and new clients.
* Proactively look for opportunities to increase revenue using the tools and analytics available.
* Take ownership for credit control within your client portfolio, in line with company policy.
* Transport & Logistics focus: Engage with insurers, risk engineers and service providers on transport‐related risk improvements (e.g. telematics, driver training, fleet risk management initiatives) and use claims trends to support client conversations.
* Works on issues of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires review of a variety of factors.
* Able to adapt broader policies and programs to meet the organization's business needs.
* Possesses advanced analytical, technical and problem‐solving skills and abilities.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

Qualifications.

* Minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent.
* A bachelor's degree is preferable.
* Must be registered as a representative with the FSCA in terms of the FAIS Act.
* Must be registered as an Associate of the IISA (or actively working towards this, where applicable).

Knowledge.

* Can confidently articulate Aon's proposition, how it differentiates Aon, and the benefits for clients.
* Computer literate with sophisticated experience in MS Word and Excel (and comfortable working with Aon Connect and Salesforce).
* Very good knowledge of policy wordings and market practices in commercial insurance.
* Transport & Logistics focus: Sound understanding of commercial motor, transport and logistics insurance, including motor fleet, HCV, goods in transit, liability, Sasria and business interruption.

* Possesses strong analytical, technical and problem‐solving skills and abilities.
* Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
* Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
* Diligent and respectful of confidentiality.
* Demonstrates a high work ethic and the ability to function effectively under pressure.
* A strong team player, with the ability to build good relationships, support colleagues and actively participate in, and contribute to, team initiatives.

Experience.

* Minimum of 5–10 years' experience in a similar or related role.
* Extensive experience in commercial insurance (broking or risk advisory).
* Optional (preferable) – Transport & Logistics focus: Demonstrable experience managing transport and logistics clients and/or sophisticated commercial motor portfolios would be advantageous.
