SkillQuest Solutions are seeking a dedicated and reliable Cafe Manager on behalf of our client known for their artisan sourdough breads, flaky croissants ad expertly brewed coffee, located in Port Elliot, South Australia.
Serving breakfast and lunch with their signature bread as the hero, alongside pasties and cakes made fresh on site, this cafe has become a popular destination for locals and visitors seeking a delicious breakfast, a relaxed brunch or for freshly baked treats paired with great coffee.
Position – Cafe Manager
Location – Port Elliot, South Australia
Salary - $77,000 - $80,000 plus superannuation per annum

THE ROLE:
We are seeking an experienced Café Manager to lead the day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, a hands-on approach, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service to every guest.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
· Oversee daily cafe operations for breakfast and lunch, ensuring smooth service across the dine-in and takeaway functions.
· Manage staff rosters, training, and performance of front of house staff, fostering a positive and efficient team environment.
· Monitor food quality and presentation standards, working closely with kitchen staff to ensure consistency.
· Support menu planning and development to ensure consistent, high-quality café offerings and variety for customers.
· Maintain excellent customer service, assist in taking orders when required, and handle customer feedback professionally.
· Manage inventory, supplier ordering and relationships, and wastage control to support business needs within budget.
· Implement operational procedures, cash handling, POS reconciliation and accurate reporting.
· Ensure compliance with food and safety, hygiene, and WHS regulations within the dining area and front of house operations.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
· Relevant qualification, such as a Diploma of Hospitality Management (or agreed equivalent).
· Minimum of 3 years (preferably more) experience as a Cafe Manager in a busy setting, ideally within a breakfast/lunch service setting.
· Strong leadership skills and experience in managing a team in a fast-paced environment.
· Excellent communication and customer service skills.
· Knowledge of food and safety, hygiene and WHS standards.
· Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
· Available for early starts across weekdays and weekends.
· You must have unrestricted working rights to work full time in Australia to be eligible for consideration.
