As part of our Residential Aged Care team at Sinnamon Village, you will play an important role in supporting residents to stay connected, engaged and active in their community. You will transport clients from their residence and return, including assistance with mobility from door to door and steps, as necessary. To assist the Leisure and Lifestyle staff during outings. To be responsible for the regular maintenance of the bus.
You'll Deliver this Role By
Transporting residents to and from scheduled outings, activities and external appointments
Providing door‐to‐door mobility assistance, including support with walking aids and wheelchairs
Ensuring safe loading, securing and unloading of passengers
Conducting daily vehicle safety checks and keeping the bus clean and well‐maintained
Coordinating refuelling, vehicle servicing, repairs and required documentation
Maintaining an accurate logbook, inspections, and registration requirements
Working with Leisure & Lifestyle staff to plan and review outing locations for accessibility and resident enjoyment
Supporting residents during outings with a warm, calm and person‐centred approach
Contributing to WHS, quality improvement and NDIS Quality & Safeguards compliance

What We're Looking For
Current D Class – Light Rigid Drivers Licence
Current First Aid certificate
Current QLD Transport Driver's Authorisation (General Services)
Experience driving a light mini‐bus and transporting clients
Knowledge of safely boarding, securing and transporting aged residents or people with disability
Strong communication skills and the ability to engage warmly with residents, families and staff
Good knowledge of Brisbane and surrounding areas
A calm, patient and team‐focused approach
Previous experience in residential aged care or disability services
Experience supporting people living with dementia
Proof of COVID‐19 vaccination status (as per WMQ policy or legislation)
Relevant probity checks (NDIS Worker Screening, national police check etc.)
Current driver's licence and willingness to drive in the course of work
