Aurizon is seeking a dedicated Driver Trainer to join our Toowoomba depot. Be instrumental in the in the success of Australia's largest rail freight operator and perform an integral role to contribute to the continued success of our Coal business in the South-East QLD region. This role will see you provide mentoring and coaching to both Trainee & Qualified Locomotive Drivers within competency-based frameworks to safely drive a train to meet business objectives.
* Facilitate and lead the acquisition of competence to requiredstandards by motivating, instructing, mentoring, coaching and assessing personnel.
* Commit to creating a supportive relationship with the traineedrivers and maintainers to support the training program objectives.
* Instruct and coach personnel in train and maintenance management competencies,procedures and route competencies to high standards.
* Deliver and maintain training and assessment plans, required reports,learning documents, logbooks and check sheets for operations and maintenance staff.
* Perform valid and fair assessments of personnel to high safetystandards whilst utilising a range of upskilling methods to ensurecompetencies are maintained.
* Plan and organise competency and learning programs to meet operationalrequirements which are effective methods of assessment andmaintenance of competence.
* Perform administrative duties including maintenance of required filesand training records.
* Work in accordance with relevant Enterprise Agreements and otherindustrial agreements relevant to the position.
* Download, analyse and deliver train handling records to Rail Traffic Crew
About you:
You are a natural teacher who has an encouraging and calm approach. You will be a self-starter who, possesses the ability to give constructive advice.
* A Certificate IV in Transport and Logistics (Rail Operations)- mandatory
* Hold a valid 'C' class driver's licence- mandatory
* Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (well regarded)
* QLD Safe working System qualifications
* Route knowledge preferred
* Ability to train and give clear instructions
* Great communication skills, both verbally and written
* Ability to work in teams effectively to achieve goals
* Good organisational skills, including the ability to keep accurate records.
