$250 p/h working in residential aged care in the Newcastle area. 2 days per week are available – choose your own days
About the Organisation
Our client is redefining how healthcare is delivered in aged care settings. With a model created by medical professionals, they offer a team-based, tech supported approach that prioritises continuity, quality, and compassion. Their goal? To provide nursing home residents with the kind of attentive, co managed care they deserve. Delivered by GPs, nurses, and specialists working together.
By moving beyond the constraints of traditional general practice, this model gives doctors more time with patients, structured support, and the chance to focus on meaningful health outcomes.
The Role
Based in residential aged care facilities across Newcastle, this role offers an opportunity to practice medicine in a calm, patient-focused environment. You'll work within a close-knit clinical team that includes:
* A Registered Nurse to support you during rounds.
* A consulting Geriatrician for complex case input.
* A proactive admin team that handles scheduling and paperwork.
* An after hours team to support you so when you finish work for the day, you can really finish work
Your day will include regular resident reviews, collaborative care planning, and a mix of acute and chronic care management. This is a unique setting that allows GPs to focus on quality over quantity, with no pressure to push through high volumes.
The Ideal Candidate
You're an experienced General Practitioner who values empathy and connection in your work. You'll ideally bring:
* Current AHPRA registration (with no restrictions).
* Fellowship with RACGP or ACRRM, or currently working towards it.
* Must be able to work as a General Practitioner without supervision.
* An interest in aged care or geriatric medicine.
* Strong communication and decision-making skills.
* A collaborative approach to working with care teams.
