Position Overview
As a Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering EON's Thriving Communities Program. This involves planning, planting, and maintaining edible gardens, as well as providing practical lessons on gardening, cooking, and nutrition. With a special emphasis on delivering these classes to school children, the aim is to empower schools and communities to establish sustainable sources of fresh, healthy food and develop skills for maintaining gardens and promoting good nutrition.
Ideally, the successful candidate will be based in Alice Springs, NT, spreading their time across Santa Teresa, Hermansburg and Areyonga communities, requiring the successful candidate to stay on community for 3-4 nights each fortnight.
Full-time (76 hours per fortnight), occasional out-of-hours work for stakeholder engagement events.
Fixed-term contract until December 31, ****, with a possibility of extension.
$88,281 p.a. plus superannuation, with salary packaging options up to $18,549 p.a. tax-free.
6 weeks annual leave.
Generous Travel Allowance provided for all nights spent working away from home.
Travel time within contracted work hours.
Based in Alice Springs with fortnightly travel to community (up to 4 nights a fortnight).
Fully maintained work vehicle provided.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for candidates who are passionate about gardening, cooking and community engagement. Ideal applicants will have existing gardening knowledge or a willingness to learn sustainable practices, and a passion for healthy cooking and sharing practical skills with others.

Gardening and cooking expertise:
Ability to establish and maintain edible gardens, teach sustainable gardening practices and share cooking skills.
Cultural sensitivity and adaptability:
Experience engaging respectfully with Aboriginal communities, with a deep understanding of cultural diversity.
Engaging and teaching children:
Ability to connect with school-aged children, deliver engaging and practical lessons, and create a positive learning environment that makes gardening, cooking, and nutrition education accessible and enjoyable.
Problem-solving and flexibility:
Strong ability to adapt to challenges and develop creative, practical solutions.
Community engagement:
Excellent interpersonal skills to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with local communities, with the ability to communicate with people of all ages, from children to adults.
Independent and proactive:
Confidence in managing projects independently, particularly in remote and dynamic settings.
