Substance Use Disorder Specialist
As a Substance Use Disorder Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with substance use disorders (SUD) by providing guidance and strategies for recovery and harm minimisation.
You will assess client needs, conduct counselling sessions (individual, couple or family), and work in various settings to develop holistic recovery plans. You will also collaborate with other professionals, such as medical staff, social workers, and community programs, to provide comprehensive care.
* Providing individual, group, and family counselling to address substance-related issues using evidence-based practices.
* Conducting comprehensive assessments of client needs related to substance use, including history, mental health, psychosocial needs, and risk factors, to determine appropriate treatment plans.
* Managing a caseload of clients, providing support, coordinating services, and advocating for their needs.
* Collaborating with other professionals to provide comprehensive care and support for individuals with SUD.
