Sigma Healthcare is responsible for a large-scale manufacturing and warehousing site in Bayswater, supporting contract manufacturing of personal care, home fragrance, and household cleaning products.
We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead the people function for the Bayswater site, which employs approximately 100 employees across salaried, waged and casual workforces. This is a standalone HR leadership role with a broad, end-to-end remit.
The HR Manager will play a key role in shaping people, culture, compliance and governance across the organisation.
About the role
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this role works closely with the Executive Leadership Team and in partnership with the Sigma Healthcare People & Culture team based in Preston. You will have no direct reports, but a broad, business-wide remit and significant influence at ELT and Board level.
This is a fully onsite role and requires a hands‐on leader who is comfortable operating in a manufacturing and warehouse environment and taking ownership of auditing, compliance and risk.
Key responsibilities
* Lead all people and workplace relations matters across the business
* Own and manage compliance across Work Health & Safety, environmental compliance, goods safety and quality culture, Fair Work, WorkSafe and legal case management.
* Lead internal and external audits, complaints management and compliance reporting.
* Partner with the ELT to drive cultural change, engagement and capability uplift.
* Influence, challenge and support senior leaders while managing upwards effectively.
* Prepare and present people‐related reporting to the Board, including performance, budgets and workforce cost management.
* Contribute to organisational design and future reward initiatives.
* Act as the key HR interface with Sigma Healthcare, aligning practices while supporting the evolving ownership structure.
Who are we looking for?
You are a confident, pragmatic HR leader who thrives in complex, operational environments and can credibly engage with senior stakeholders. You will bring:
* Proven experience in a senior HR or HR Manager role, ideally in manufacturing, warehousing or similar operational settings.
* Strong working knowledge of Australian employment legislation, WHS and regulatory compliance.
* Experience leading audits, investigations, and managing legal and employee relations matters end-to-end.
* The ability to influence at ELT and Board level while remaining hands‐on and commercially grounded.
* A resilient, confident communication style with the ability to influence peers and leaders across the business.
* A proactive mindset with a genuine interest in culture, safety and continuous improvement.
* Broad, end‐to‐end HR leadership role with real influence.
