**The Role**
An opportunity exists to join a dynamic and vibrant Defence project team for an APS 5 Technician, working with a technologically advanced suite of Maritime Explosive Weapons.

Located in Rockingham WA, we are currently seeking a motivated technician searching for a new career opportunity who fits into our agile, empowering, positive and open organisation.

The key objective for our technicians is to develop in depth technical knowledge in maritime weapon technologies. Some of your key duties may include:

- Effectively performing critical and complex technical activities whilst working within an Integrated Product Team (IPT).
- Knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence's mission and policy requirements.
- Provide detailed explosive ordnance technical and qualified advice in relation to complex work.
- Contribute to strategic planning, program and project management and policy development.

**About our Team**
Maritime Explosive Ordnance Systems Program Office (MEOPSO) is an integral part of Explosive Materiel Branch (EMB) within Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance (GWEO) Delivery Division, which is part of GWEO Group.

Our team is made up of various disciplines (including engineering, project management, commercial, logistics, and corporate enabling services). We are located in Canberra, Penrith, Ipswich, RAAF Amberley and Rockingham (HMAS Stirling) and our focus is to acquire and sustain guided weapons and munitions for the Australian Defence Force (ADF).

As an APS 5 Technician, you will be accountable, under broad direction, to perform and achieve moderately complex technical explosive ordnance electronic-mechanical work meeting Defence expectations.
- Be accountable for exercising assigned authorities and any Technical Regulatory Authority delegations.
- Demonstrate technical explosive ordnance knowledge and provide advice and recommendations on the development of and advancements to establish technical principles, techniques, methods and regulations.
- Assess technical and design packages including scoping, planning, reviewing, provide recommendations and contribute to the implementation of actions.
- Evaluate that the delivered materiel meets requirements and legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks, provide recommendations and contribute to the implementation of actions.
- Identify, assess and monitor risks to ensure safety aspects of Defence materiel systems are considered and incorporated into technical explosive ordnance activities.
- Develop artefacts required to progress introduction and sustainment of maritime weapon systems.
