The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and supervising fieldwork activities to safely complete geotechnical site investigations.
They will also contribute to projects by collating and presenting factual data in reports of a high technical standard, interpreting and analysing geological and geotechnical data to contribute to the development and implementation of practical engineering and commercial solutions.
About the Role
* This position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in opportunity to work across Western Australia and interstate in both short and long term assignments with a focus on developing a broad range of skills.
* Working with a wide range of experienced and highly qualified geotechnical engineers, engineering geologists, geophysicists, hydrogeologists and geotechnicians.

Requirements
* Post graduate degree specialising in Engineering Geology from a recognised tertiary institution, with experience preferably in the consultancy industry.
* Experience in the scoping, organisation and supervision geotechnical investigations, particularly for large dams, civil infrastructure and mining projects.
* Experience in geohazard identification and risk assessment, with an appreciation of soil and rock mechanics and the ability to carry out assessments of foundations, embankments and natural and cut slopes.
* Demonstrated ability to provide practical geological input into engineering problems.
* Previous experience working in a professional consulting environment, with the ability to build and maintain strong client and team relationships.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Open to travel and work on local or remote sites for extended periods of time as required for durations of up to 3 months (rostered work).
* A current manual WA drivers license (or equivalent).
