What You'll Be Doing
The Head of the Department of Radiology holds responsibility as the medical leader and manager of the clinical services, medical staff and training, research and quality programs and other functions relevant to the Department of Radiology at the Coffs Harbour Health Campus. The Director will work within the Coffs Harbour Health Campus Medical Imaging Stream to ensure activities within the Department align to broader MNCLHD objectives.
The Department of Radiology provides extensive patient services and has a high academic profile in teaching, education and research. There is a busy diagnostic and interventional Radiology service.
The Medical Department Head will work in collaboration with medical, radiography, nursing and allied health colleagues to promote evidence-based practice and innovation for excellence in care and continuous improvement. As clinical leader, they will enhance clinical engagement and professional practice and standards, as well as a culture of respect for the individual, teamwork and continuous performance improvement.

Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Radiologist, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
Demonstrated clinical leadership, with ability to manage change, to negotiate, to build effective teams and support junior medical staff, with a track record of success in these areas.
Demonstrated experience in an acute health environment in the modalities of Diagnostic General Xray, Ultrasound and CT and MRI.
Demonstrated experience in interventional radiology to supplement current clinician interests.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research, and quality improvement.
Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
