About This Opportunity
As a full‐time teacher, you will work collaboratively with your colleagues to deliver a vibrant curriculum to your students and possess a strong knowledge of content and pedagogy in these areas. You will use teaching strategies that cater to the needs of a diverse student group and differentiate the curriculum to adapt to students' needs.
As the classroom teacher, you will be responsible for the delivery of a holistic education, including:
* Plan, implement, and review learning programs aligned with relevant syllabus and curriculum requirements (e.g. ACARA and QCAA), ensuring coherence, rigour, and appropriate sequencing of learning.
* Create a learner‐centred classroom environment that is safe, inclusive, supportive, and respectful.
* Use differentiated and contemporary teaching practices to meet the needs of diverse learners.
* Maintain effective classroom management practices consistent with the School's Behaviour Management Policy.
* Assess, monitor, and provide timely feedback on student learning and progress.
* Maintaining professional standards as defined by the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
* Actively support student wellbeing and pastoral care in the classroom and across the wider school community.
* Adhering to and upholding the School's Code of Conduct, as outlined in the Code of Conduct for Anglican Schools and Education & Care Services.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a genuine willingness to engage, connect with, and care for students, supporting them in achieving their academic potential while growing in confidence, character, and faith.
Skills and Experiences
* Experience teaching Years 11 and 12 Psychology and Biology.
* Experience teaching Years 7-10 Science.
* Strong understanding of the Australian Curriculum: Science.
* Qualified Teacher, registered with, or eligible for registration with, the Queensland College of Teachers.
* Demonstrated competence against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers across professional knowledge, practice, and engagement.
* Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
* Commitment to engaging positively with colleagues, students, parents, and carers to achieve the best outcomes for students.
* Demonstrated commitment to the Christian faith and the Anglican ethos of the School.
Important Information
* Agree to undergo a Criminal History/Police Check conducted by the School.
* Agree to be checked against the Anglican Church's National Professional Standards Register.
* Be an Australian resident and eligible to work in Australia.
