This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring taxation compliance, accuracy, and continuous improvement across the business.Reporting to the Taxation Counsel, you will play a critical role in managing both direct and indirect tax obligations while driving process improvements and supporting strategic initiatives.**Key Responsibilities*** Lead and oversee all direct and indirect taxation reporting and compliance activities* Prepare and manage Income Tax Returns, including consolidation and supporting schedules* Oversee FBT, GST/BAS, IAS, and Fuel Tax Credit reporting and lodgements* Coordinate tax effect accounting and quarterly group reporting requirements* Maintain and improve internal control systems aligned to compliance and audit standards* Provide technical tax guidance and training across the business* Supervise and review work performed within the Tax Accounting team* Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and overall service delivery* Analyse legislative changes and ensure ongoing compliance with Australian tax law* Support audits, reviews, and ad hoc tax projects**About You****Experience & Qualifications*** 3–5+ years' recent experience in taxation accounting* Tertiary qualification in Accounting or related discipline* CA or CPA qualification (essential)* Experience with SAP or corporate tax systems (e.g., OneSource) highly regarded**Skills & Attributes*** Strong technical knowledge of Australian taxation (Income Tax, GST, FBT)* Advanced MS Excel and high-level analytical capability* Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills* Ability to lead, coach, and influence others* Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong commercial acumen* Commitment to continuous improvement and process optimisation**What We Offer*** Competitive salary package aligned to your experience* Career development opportunities within a global organisation* Access to our comprehensive "Material Benefits" program, including: + Discounts and lifestyle benefits + Health and wellbeing initiatives + Novated leasing options + Learning and development pathways* A supportive, inclusive team environment where your contribution is valued* Opportunities to be part of continuous improvement and transformation initiatives**Our Commitment**Heidelberg Materials Australia is an equal opportunity employer.
