About the Role We are seeking a reliable and versatile General Hand / Maintenance Fitter to join our team. This role involves performing general maintenance, assisting tradespeople, and ensuring plant, machinery, and facilities are kept in safe, working condition. The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety-conscious, and able to work independently or as part of a team. Key Responsibilities Assist maintenance fitters with installation, repair, and servicing of machinery and equipment. Perform general mechanical, electrical, and plumbing tasks under supervision. Carry out preventative maintenance and routine inspections of equipment. Maintain workshop and work areas in a clean and safe condition. Assist with moving, assembling, and dismantling machinery as required. Report faults, hazards, or maintenance issues promptly. Operate hand tools, power tools, and basic machinery safely. Always follow workplace health and safety (WHS) guidelines. Key Skills & Experience Previous experience in a maintenance or workshop environment preferred. Basic mechanical aptitude and general hand skills. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment safely. Good physical fitness and ability to work in various environments. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work. Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team. Flexible and willing to perform a variety of tasks as required. Qualifications Trade qualifications or relevant certificates are advantageous but not essential. Forklift licence or other machinery licences desirable. Working Conditions Warehouse, factory, or workshop environment. May involve manual handling You must be willing to under take a pre- employment medical including drug and alcohol screen.
