Your new company
Our client, a successful local company specialising in the construction of Commercial and Government Buildings, is recruiting a talented Site Supervisor to lead the on-site delivery of complex projects in Darwin.
Your new role
You will be responsible for coordinating the construction works on site and monitoring the delivery of projects to meet the company's requirements for quality, safety, and budget. The projects will involve a mix of new builds and large refurbishments for Commercial and Government facilities, with values ranging from $1m up to $25m. This is a full-time Permanent role based in Darwin.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
* Review the project plans and specifications and comment on the building design, scheduling, possible cost-savings measures, and potential construction problems.
* Develop the daily and fortnightly programming.
* Monitor the project construction schedule and the subcontractors' scope of works.
* Supervise the activity on site and oversee the Trades and subcontractors' daily operations.
* Ensure an efficient and safe quality of work according to the company's standards.
* Report directly to the Project Manager about the work progress and ensure scheduled works are completed on time.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will need:
* Significant experience in a Site Supervisor or Site Manager role working on Commercial, Government or Defence construction projects in Australia.
* Trade qualifications / background in Construction (Carpentry background preferred).
* Proven experience in interpreting drawings and building specifications.
* Proven experience with subcontractor management.
* Strong understanding of MS Office applications and/or Procore is desirable.
* Solid leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
