Job Description
We are seeking a seasoned leader to oversee the administration of Plant Breeder's Rights and Oppositions, working collaboratively with an executive team to drive strategic objectives. This is an exciting time for our organization as we integrate data capabilities with AI solutions to enhance efficiency and leverage data as a national asset.
Maintaining high-quality and timely IP rights in accordance with our Performance Framework is a critical expectation. Key responsibilities include:
* Administering the PBR system in compliance with the Plant Breeder's Rights Act 1994
* Chairing the PBR consultative group to ensure stakeholder input
* Developing relationships with key stakeholders to support delivery of strategic objectives
* Administering Oppositions and Hearing processes for all IP rights
* Collaborating with other IP Australia executives to deliver effective and efficient services across all rights
* Maintaining legislative compliance in PBR and Oppositions administration
* Managing a team of approximately 51 staff and contractors
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Proven leadership experience in a similar role
* Strong understanding of IP rights and regulatory frameworks
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Able to work collaboratively in a team environment
