The Role The Cost Accountant will play a key part in enhancing financial accuracy and supporting business profitability through detailed cost management. Key responsibilities include:
- Refining and maintaining the costing structure for produced and sourced items
- Examining variances in materials, labour, and overheads, spotting patterns and suggesting improvements
- Collaborating with operations and technical teams on new product assessments, offering cost evaluations and pricing guidance
- Establishing and revising standard costs and material bills (BOMs).
- Verifying stock values and aligning records between finance and production systems
- Tracking manufacturing results to uphold cost precision and operational effectiveness
- Contributing to yearly planning and projections with cost data and variance insights
- Aiding efforts to boost cost transparency, profit review, and control measures
The Candidate The successful applicant will bring a solid foundation in cost accounting within a production setting, combined with strong analytical capabilities. Essential attributes include:
- CPA or CA status advantageous
- At least 3-5 years in a comparable position
- Degree in accounting, finance or business related degree
- Prior experience in cost accounting from a manufacturing background
- Sound understanding of local accounting principles and tax obligations
- Advanced skills in data analysis and issue resolution
