Board Support Officer
Community Arts Network is seeking an experienced and self-motivated professional to support the CAN Board in administration, preparation and minute-taking for Board meetings.
About the Role:
This new Board Support Officer role will be responsible to the CAN Board and Chair for the secretarial management of board business. Reporting to the CEO, key duties and responsibilities include attending and taking minutes at all Board and Audit and Risk Committee (ARC) meetings, accurately documenting discussions, decisions and actions. Writing up minutes after meetings, preparing and circulating meeting agendas, including necessary attachments (minutes, reports etc) to Board members and meeting attendees. Organising and coordinating Board and ARC meetings, including arranging venue, catering and online logistics.
The ideal candidate will have a level of experience with Boards particularly for Not-for-profit organisations and an understanding of governance procedures and protocols. An excellent organiser, they will be an efficient and accurate minute-taker with high-level written and verbal communication skills and a proven ability to fulfill tasks to completion and meet deadlines. An independent and mature worker, this role requires an adaptable problem-solver, with demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, who is self-motivated, proactive, with a willingness to commit to CAN's values of First Peoples first, Creativity, Respect and Social Equity.

Independent contractor role, with flexibility of work from home arrangements as well as attendance at pre-scheduled meetings (both online and in person). Competitive hourly rate on presentation of an invoice quoting an ABN, plus superannuation at the level determined by the Superannuation Guarantee Act.
