Rail Test Technician:

Our Valued Rail services client is one of the largest integrated and diversified suppliers of railroad and transit system products and services in Australia.
An opportunity exists for a Rail Test Technician who is accountable to become part of the mobilisation introduction to service rolling stock team who are responsible for ensuring the smooth introduction to service of a fleet of regional rolling stock.
Role General Duties, Tasks & Responsibilities:
The role is responsible for testing trains and resolving any engineering issues that may arise during the test programme of the project.
This will involve communicating with the based team and headquarters to fully understand the procedures.
They will be responsible for the analysis of testing data, compiling data and presenting findings to key stakeholders and colleagues. In addition, the person in the role will lead a team of Testing and Commissioning Technicians.
• Develop the test programme and coordinate the activities, the different parties and the necessary resources to achieve the objectives in quality, time and cost.
• Prepare the test methods and execute the static and track tests of all the trainsets in accordance with the validation procedures agreed in the project.
• Analyse the test data, create test reports and present them the relevant stakeholders.
• Manage all faults and design validation issues raised during the testing phase and work in collaboration with the relevant project experts and contractors in the analysis and resolution.
• Ensure that all technical, process and HSE related procedures established and followed thoroughly during the entire phase.
• Lead a team of Testing Technicians.
Required Skills, Experience and Competencies:
* Australian Electrical Supervisor Contractor License &/OR TAFE Certification Level III in Electrotechnology Engineering.
* Demonstrated experience in prioritising and managing multiple conflicting deadlines while maintaining a keen attention to detail.
* Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information clearly and concisely.
* The ability to provide timely, customer-focused specialist engineering advice and support.
* Experience with office management software e.g. MS Office (MS Excel and MS Word, specifically).
Desirables:
* Have at least 2 years' experience in similar or related roles.
* knowledge and understanding of rolling stock systems.
* Knowledge of relevant Australian and international rolling stock standards.
* Experience in testing engineering designs.
* Highly developed problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
Additional requirements:
* The successful applicant will have to obtain a RIW Card, which means you must undergo Rail CAT 3pre-employment medical with LAB Drugs & Alcohol Screening.
* Will have to complete anAustralian Police Check.
* Have fulltime unlimited Australian working rights.
* The business is subject to the public health order requirements which are released of changed from time to time.
