This is a full-time, site-based role at the Fosterville Gold Mine in Bendigo, Victoria. As the Mine Planning Engineer your primary purpose in this position is to provide production/planning support to allow the safe, efficient and cost effective operation of the Mining department to effectively exploit the mineral reserve.
Reporting to the Senior Mine Planning Engineer, your duties will include:
Identify risk to the operation within the role and take reasonable actions to mitigate that risk
Engagement with Safety programs and initiatives
Generation and communication of mine development designs
Generation and maintenance of standards and procedures for the design processes as well as maintaining the mine design register
Collaboration with the Mine Planning Engineer (Scheduling) to optimise and maintain the mine physicals schedule
Generation and maintenance of databases and be responsible for daily physicals reporting
Monitor and communicate mine development performance through operations and geology morning meetings and weekly planning meetings
Assisting Mine Planning Engineers (Scheduling and Reserves)
The successful candidate should possess the following:
Tertiary degree in mining engineering or relevant professional experience.
Experience in underground Drill and Blast (desired).
Computer literate mine planning software (Deswik preferred) & Microsoft Office products
A strong commitment to safe work practices.
Possess strong planning and organisational skills.
Have effective communication skills and be able to work well within a team setting

This role will be based at Fosterville Gold Mine. The roster for this residential position will be an 8/6 roster, working an average of 48 hours per week.
A competitive salary package will be offered commensurate with the successful applicant’s qualifications, knowledge and experience.
