Casework Support Worker
Location: Newcastle, Mayfield, Charlestown, Cessnock, Maitland, Muswellbrook and Raymond Terrace – full time and part time
Grade 3/4: $84,659 - $92,701 pa plus superannuation and annual leave loading
Role Summary
As a Casework Support Worker, you will help caseworkers in their day‐to‐day work supporting children, young people, families and communities in varied and challenging circumstances.
Responsibilities
- Assist caseworkers prepare documentation and help with case planning for children and young people.
- Source and share information about families and make relevant referrals and appointments.
- Maintain timely client and casework records, including client information system records.
- Supervise low‐risk family visits and prepare summary reports which accurately record observations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Some community work experience in working with vulnerable and diverse groups.
- Strong record‐keeping experience or an eagerness to learn.
- Understanding of the complex, challenging situations faced by disadvantaged families and the role of caseworkers.
- A TAFE Diploma in a relevant field, welfare/community services and/or relevant work experience deemed equivalent.
- A valid driver's licence, as occasional travel will be required.
