Hybrid Work Model
We are not your typical infrastructure team. We are technically sharp, delivery focused and genuinely curious, and we are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join a small, specialist team responsible for a bespoke voice platform that underpins public facing telco services used at scale. This is not a standard sysadmin role. You will work deep in the stack across Linux, networking, VoIP, and automation in an environment where uptime is not a target but a design principle.

What You'll Be Doing
You will be a core member of the Voice Platforms team, responsible for the reliability, security and continuous improvement of a bespoke voice infrastructure platform. Reporting to the Operations Manager for Collaboration, you will work across a broad technology stack that spans Linux systems administration, network engineering, database management, automation and software development. The platform operates at scale with high availability requirements, so your work will directly influence platform uptime and the experience of end users. You will also be part of an on call roster, meaning you need to be comfortable owning issues end to end when it counts.
* Administer and maintain Ubuntu Linux systems, including regular patching, updates, and performance tuning to keep the platform secure and reliable
* Build and maintain Puppet manifests to automate and template system configurations across the environment
* Manage MySQL databases, write SQL queries, and ensure data integrity and performance across platform services
* Develop and maintain scripts in Perl and Bash, and support PHP based API connectivity and front ends
* Support the Cisco network layer underpinning the platform, including IP addressing, VLANs, switching, routing protocols and carrier interconnects
* Maintain version controlled code using Git and GitLab, and keep technical documentation accurate and current
* Participate in on call rotation to respond to platform outages and critical alerts
What You'll Bring
The Essentials
* 5 or more years of hands on Linux administration experience, preferably with Ubuntu or Debian in a production environment
* Solid understanding of IP networking including DNS, subnetting, switching and routing, with proficiency in packet analysis tools such as Wireshark
* Practical experience with Git or GitLab for version control, and familiarity with configuration management tools such as Puppet
* Working knowledge of MySQL database administration including writing and optimising SQL queries
* Coding ability in at least one of Perl, Bash or PHP, with the willingness and aptitude to develop further across all three
Bonus Points
* Hands on experience with VoIP technologies such as FreeSWITCH, OpenSIPS or Asterisk, and working knowledge of SIP, SDP, RTP, TLS and SRTP protocols
* Familiarity with SIP trunking, call flows, and integrations with platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Webex Calling or Genesys
* Experience with billing systems and CDR management in a telco or VoIP environment
Even if you don't tick every box, don't let that hold you back. If this sounds like your kind of challenge, we'd genuinely love to hear from you!
