We're looking for an experienced technical writer to join us as we rebuild our product documentation. If you thrive on turning complex information into user‐friendly content, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting impact.
About the role
You'll create high‐quality, user‐centered documentation for our enterprise HR and payroll software, used daily by our clients who, maybe HR managers, payroll officers, administrators, and onboarding teams. This is role may be based in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane.
We're undergoing a major documentation transformation. This is not a simple migration, but a full restructure, rewrite, and redesign. You'll work exclusively in our new environment and play a key role in centralising and modernising our documentation.
What you'll do
* Write clear, concise, task- and workflow-oriented documentation for complex HR and payroll processes.
* Create user guides, administration and configuration guides, installation guides, and release notes.
* Restructure, rewrite, and modernise selected content from legacy systems.
* Work with product owners, SMEs, QA, and support teams to gather information and capture accurate, up-to-date product knowledge.
* Contribute to the long‐term structure and scalability of our new documentation ecosystem.
What you'll bring
* 5+ years' experience developing complex technical content in a software or enterprise environment.
* Experience with structured authoring tools such as MadCap Flare (ideal) or similar.
* Able to write clearly and simply so users understand information quickly.
* Strong understanding of information architecture and content reuse.
* Ability to analyse information, identify gaps, ask targeted questions, and work methodically through complexity.
* Additionally, you'll have a curious, analytical mindset and bring a willingness to learn. A portfolio demonstrating clarity, structure, and practical user guidance is highly desirable.
