The Opportunity

Be part of a collaborative team and contribute to building strong financial capability across Council. As a Management Accountant, you'll join a supportive group of Senior Accountants and Management Accountants who work together to deliver high‐quality financial insight, advice and reporting for divisions across the organisation.

In this role, you'll partner closely with divisions to strengthen their financial knowledge, build confidence in their budgets, and support sustainable, well‐informed decision making that helps deliver high‐quality services to the community. Your financial insights will genuinely influence outcomes across Council.

Your analytical strengths, collaborative approach, and ability to translate financial information into clear, meaningful advice will make a real and visible impact.

This is a permanent full‐time position. Salary from $93,557 to $109,530 per annum plus superannuation (salary package will be assessed based on skills, experience and qualifications).

What you will be doing

* Prepare, review and analyse budgets, forecasts and financial data to support clear, confident decision making.
* Deliver monthly financial reporting, reconciliations and meaningful insights that help stakeholders understand their financial position.
* Build strong business partnering relationships with Directors, Managers and operational teams across Council.
* Maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial information and support improvements to systems, processes and reporting.
* Contribute to long‐term financial plans, quarterly reviews and the Annual Financial Statements.
* Support the management of grants and restricted assets, including monitoring, reporting and acquittals.

About you

You're someone who enjoys turning financial information into clear, practical advice that supports good decision making. You bring strong analytical capability and the interpersonal skills to build trusted relationships across an organisation, and you take pride in being reliable, proactive and solutions‐focused. You bring:

* Experience in accounting, ideally including budgeting, analysis and financial reporting.
* A recognised accounting degree (CPA/CA membership desirable but not essential).
* Strong communication and relationship‐building skills, with the ability to support stakeholders of varying financial capability.
* Capability in budget preparation, analysis, data integrity and managing competing priorities.
* Solid FMIS and spreadsheet skills, with a willingness to learn new systems (e.g. TechOne).
* A collaborative mindset and genuine interest in understanding how services operate to provide meaningful, context‐rich financial advice.
