The Occupational Therapy Department within CHHHS delivers comprehensive, evidence‐based services across acute, sub‐acute, rehabilitation, outpatient and community settings. The department supports patients across the lifespan to optimise independence, safety and participation in meaningful activities following illness, injury or functional decline. Services are delivered within a multidisciplinary framework and respond to the diverse cultural, geographic and health needs of Far North Queensland, including rural, remote and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. About your role:
* Utilising increasing professional and clinical knowledge, expertise and clinical decision-making skills to enhance service delivery in line with clinical and departmental work instructions, under the clinical practice supervision or professional guidance of a more senior clinician.
* Contributing to the identification, development and implementation of quality and service improvement activities including effective risk management, in order to enhance the delivery of safe and efficient Occupational Therapy clinical services.
* This position will provide relief occupational therapy services to the rural areas of Mossman, Mareeba, Atherton, Babinda, Tully and Innisfail. The person appointed may reside in any of these areas inclusive of Cairns. Position will be required to travel and remain in provided accommodation if required for periods (inclusive of relevant allowances). There is potential for the person appointed to rotate into other positions for periods at the discretion of the Director of Occupational Therapy.
