Overview
Hilton Manufacturing is seeking a skilled Toolmaker to join our stable and growing manufacturing team. This hands-on role involves the manufacture, maintenance and improvement of press tools, jigs, fixtures and specialised one-off components, offering a variety of work across new builds, repairs and tooling improvements. You will also work alongside and help develop a new apprentice, sharing your trade knowledge and supporting their development within the tool room.
Key Accountabilities
* Manufacture, repair, and maintain press tools, jigs, fixtures, and tooling components
* Interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately
* Perform precision machining including milling, turning, grinding, and fitting
* Troubleshoot tooling issues and implement effective solutions
* Work closely with production teams to ensure tooling performance and reliability
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Tool Room
* Mentor and train an apprentice in daily workshop activities, developing practical trade skills while ensuring safety and quality standards are met
What We're Looking For
* Trade qualification as a Toolmaker or Fitter & Turner
* Experience working with press tools or tooling environments
* Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills
* Someone who enjoys sharing knowledge and supporting an apprentice
* Australian work rights are required for this position
* A completed toolmaking apprenticeship, trade qualification, or equivalent experience is required
