Location: RockhamptonAbout the roleMater Private Hospital Rockhampton is looking for an experienced Accountant to join its team.
Reporting to the Finance and Operations Manager, this permanent, full-time position involves applying financial expertise to support the hospital's strategic and operational goals, including planning, budgeting, forecasting, analysis and performance monitoring.What you'll be doingAs a key member of the Financial Services Team, you will develop and implement plans, policies, frameworks and processes to improve financial capability, respond to complex financial management issues, and promote continuous improvement.
You will collaborate with the management team, nurse unit managers and department managers to provide effective fiscal management and support patient-centred care.About youYou have tertiary qualifications in accounting or business management and a minimum of five years' experience in a similar role.
Additionally, you meet the following criteria:Demonstrated experience in data analysis, e.g., month-end results such as revenue, costs, margin and cash flowLeadership experience within an interdisciplinary environment, empowering staff with transparent management practicesAbility to manage multiple tasks, prioritise projects and meet deadlinesWell-developed data analysis skills and advanced Excel skillsDedication to continuous professional development for yourself and othersUnderstanding of private health funding and patient accounts managementFull membership of CPA Australia or Chartered Accountant (CA ANZ) – desiredProven experience in a medical or hospital administration environment, interpreting and applying medical terminology appropriately – desiredBenefits
