Job Opportunity:
We are seeking a seasoned Financial Analyst to join our Financial Services team. This role will play a key part in driving business growth through strategic financial planning, analysis, and execution.
* Develop and deliver accurate budgets, forecasts, and long-range plans that align with the company's strategy
* Conduct in-depth analysis of business drivers and competitor performance to identify insights and trends, presenting findings and recommendations to senior leadership
* Own month-end revenue close and results, ensuring accuracy and compliance
* Maintain and build the forecast revenue model for Financial Services
* Work closely with the FS data team to manage, coordinate, and own the valuation of the Trail Book
* Lead financial modeling for new initiatives and partnerships, working with stakeholders to deliver financially viable strategies on new business models
* Support and collaborate with the Financial Services Commercial Analyst across expense close, forecasting, opex/capex analysis, and reporting
* Handle and interpret large datasets, working with the Financial Services data team to uncover insights that inform decision-making
* Identify opportunities to improve current processes, systems, and tools, proactively partnering with stakeholders to implement change
* Evaluate and ensure relevant SOX compliance requirements are met
* Partner with and influence key stakeholders to drive business outcomes
* Improve reporting and analysis for management teams, executive leadership, and Board-level reporting
* Stay up-to-date with industry and market trends, identifying and managing internal and external financial risks and opportunities
* Skillfully communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification
* Relevant tertiary qualifications
* At least 8 years of experience in a commercially focused/business partnering capacity, preferably with prior Big 4 experience
* Proven experience in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting, including advanced modeling techniques such as DCF valuations
* Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
* Strong initiative, willingness to take ownership, and teamwork skills
* Attention to detail and tenacity to problem-solve
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with data to surface insights
* Demonstrated commercial acumen and ability to manage diverse stakeholder groups
Additional Requirements:
* Experience using Adaptive Planning or similar planning tools
* Familiarity with data warehouse tools
* Mortgage broking and/or banking industry experience
