We are looking for a talented Supply Chain Analyst to join our Operations team to help OUP ANZ reach its financial and customer support goals by ensuring consistent and efficient management of the full supply chain, including inbound freight, warehousing, and distribution services.
Key Responsibilities
* To effectively manage the contract and relationship with our 3PL partner to ensure cost‑effective, timely and efficient warehouse and distribution services are delivered to OUP customers.
* Ongoing review of 3PL supplier performance across both warehousing and distribution services to ensure delivery of services to the requirements of the contract.
* Ongoing review of OUP performance across both warehousing and distribution services to the requirements of the contract.
* Drive effective and robust commercial supplier relationship management to ensure best practice operations, including change management activities for scope growth, claims, and application of invoice credits for non‑performance.
* Proactively manage activity‑based costs and supplier performance, within agreed SLA/KPIs, including preparedness for seasonal demands, grant management, stock disposal, etc.
* Undertake annual review of contract performance with 3PL provider and make agreed amendments to KPIs, SLA or contract terms if required.
* Actively manage risks, issues and escalations.
* Identify areas of improvement and execute cost efficiencies, also negotiating best prices with new and existing suppliers.
* Ongoing engagement with key business stakeholders including the Senior Management Team.
* Establish an OUP ANZ Supply Chain Community bringing together Supply Planning, Production, Data and Customer Service to ensure the supply chain operates efficiently from end to end.
Operations Strategy
* Contribute to the overall strategic direction of Operations with guidance from the Head of Operations.
* Identify opportunities to implement initiatives across supply chain, distribution, and warehouse operations with a commercial mindset, aiming to deliver efficiencies and reduce costs where appropriate.
* Access and analyse data to inform and challenge operations processes and identify efficiencies.
* Attend and actively contribute to team meetings and workshops.
* Drive ideas to improve workflows and processes.
* Support team‑building activities to improve morale and motivation, providing support to other colleagues in times of peak.
Shipping, Inbound Ordering and Export
* Ensure effective management of all in‑transit stock.
* Oversee the effective planning and management of all inbound shipments (Air/Sea) from print suppliers and OUP branches, including customs clearance and documentation.
* Ensure all export freight quotes enable customer order placement and timely purchase at competitive pricing.
* Handle communications promptly and efficiently.
* Maintain consistent engagement with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure deliveries are within time and budget.
* Communicate delays, risks or issues to stakeholders in a timely manner, and provide recommendations for resolution.
* Manage shipping costs within newly established local or global agreements and to budget.
* Ensure SAP data relating to shipping, inbound ordering and exports is up to date and oversee weekly NZ market dispatch to honour commitments to NZ partners and customers.
Reporting
* Produce monthly reporting on all inbound freight.
* Prepare senior management reporting pack around monthly activities and any updates to initiatives.
* Maintain dashboard reports to track and manage costs, shipping, warehousing and distribution KPIs, highlighting areas for improvement and plans for remediation.
* Utilise reports to improve service and operational performance, including proactively providing peak‑time planning and other campaign information to the 3PL provider to ensure they ramp up to meet demand and remain within On‑Time Delivery SLA.
Cross‑departmental Collaboration
* Be a key business partner across the organisation, ensuring effective communication and collaboration to support the smooth flow of stock through the supply chain.
* Work closely with colleagues in Supply Planning to communicate requirements and determine any constraints to the plan that could affect execution or availability.
* Collaborate with Sales and Customer Service to ensure smooth delivery and timely delivery of stock to customers.
* Contribute points in weekly Finance forecast meetings around warehouse performance and peak/key activities and highlight any risks.
* Develop and demonstrate strong working relationships with international stakeholders across Operations, Publishing, and across the broader OUP ANZ and global teams.
SAP Key User
* SAP processes are implemented and used effectively to manage the supply chain.
* Identify systems and process improvements, investigate their feasibility and financial viability, and execute necessary project work.
* Keep users of the system up to date with any enhancements or changes.
Process, Policy and Procedure
* Review and update all documentation relating to the supply chain, ensuring it is up to date, relevant and maintained.
* Implement SAP processes for warehousing and stock management.
* Identify systems and process improvements and execute them.
About You
* High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Exposure to and understanding of Power BI reporting.
* Be a strong decision maker with high attention to detail.
* Possess excellent interpersonal communication and influence skills.
* Demonstrate high proficiency in data analysis, interpretation, manipulation, forecasting and forecasting methodologies with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts.
* Experience working cross‑functionally to deliver results within an end‑to‑end value chain.
* Experienced at presenting at cross‑functional meetings.
* High level Excel skills.
* Post‑secondary qualification.
* Knowledge of the Australian education market.
* Prior knowledge of SAP desirable.
* Highly flexible working environment.
