Newcastle Private Hospital is seeking Registered Nurses to join our Level 2 North surgical ward team on a full-time or part-time basis, with the flexibility to work across Newcastle Private Hospital.
Level 2 North offers a wide range of specialties including gynaecology, urology, colorectal, paediatrics, and general surgery. We are looking for dedicated, compassionate team players who excel in a nurturing and supportive environment, creating a warm atmosphere for both colleagues and patients.
About Us
Join our expert team of surgeons, specialists, nurses, and allied health professionals at Newcastle Private Hospital, a 189-bed acute private hospital co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park. Our facilities include 11 theatres (including a hybrid theatre), a 15-bed ICU, a cardiac suite with a catheter laboratory, a 16-bed Coronary Care Unit, a private maternity suite with 6 birthing suites, and a special care nursery. We also provide specialized oncology care with inpatient and outpatient services.
Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse
Provide acute nursing care in accordance with legislation.
Deliver evidence-based nursing care.
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team.
Ensure safety for patients and staff.
Supervise and guide nursing team members, including ENs and AINs.
Assess perioperative nursing care to optimize patient outcomes.
Complete documentation in line with policies.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
At least 2 years of post-registration experience in relevant settings.
Proven experience in acute surgical wards, including specialties listed above.
Knowledge of quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice.
Ability to work effectively in a team and advocate for patient-centered care.
Excellent communication skills and flexibility for a seven-day roster, including nights.

Salary and Benefits
Salary ranges from $35.46 to $49.79 per hour, based on experience and aligned with the current enterprise agreement.
