Key Duties and Accountabilities
- Supervise a complex case management service providing quality advice and support to management, clients and human resources officers including discipline, investigation, employee complaints and performance management in accordance with the Public Service Act 2008.
- Lead a team of human resources practitioners (individual contributors) to deliver quality human resources, workforce and workplace culture initiatives.
- Identify risks and provide analysis and advice to meet the department's business outcomes.
- Be responsible for the ongoing integrity, reconciliation and reporting of workplace matters in order to provide accurate and timely information to meet internal and external reporting requirements
- Be savvy at stakeholder engagement, manage expectations and processes in a fluid and sometimes emotionally charged setting
- Prepare accurate, timely and relevant advice, workplace matter assessments, submissions, briefings and correspondence for decision maker review.
- Contribute to and participate in a range of Human Resource team agendas including, team Meetings, HR leadership sessions, strategic and business planning.
- Represent the department at interagency meetings and forums.
- Liaise, consult and develop effective networks with internal and external stakeholders including government agencies, industry and business associations to deliver department outcomes.
- Maintain well-developed knowledge of contemporary human resource management legislation and practices, ensuring current knowledge and skills across the human resources discipline.
- Contribute to the evaluation of human resources services and initiatives to ensure services support the department's business outcomes.
- Other duties as directed and required.
