Psychological Care Specialist
Job Role Overview
The primary objective of this role is to provide expert psychological care and support to children and families dealing with cancer treatment at John Hunter Children's Hospital.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with the psychosocial team to deliver comprehensive care to inpatients receiving treatment or attending outpatient clinics for follow-up care.
* Develop and implement individualized psychological therapy plans to address adjustment to health conditions, developmental, behavioral, or psychological concerns complicating recovery from medical conditions.
Requirements
* Current registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Postgraduate clinical psychology qualification accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council, demonstrating a minimum of two years full-time study or equivalent recognition on the Psychology Board of Australia website.
