The Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions are an international missionary Congregation of Religious Women founded in Lyon, France in 1861, now present in 22 countries worldwide. Our work is dedicated to the education, wellbeing, and advancement of women and children - especially those experiencing disadvantage through poverty, poor health, political marginalisation, or discrimination of any kind.
The Australian Province comprises 13 Sisters in small communities in Melbourne and Perth and 2 Sisters overseas. We maintain a deep commitment to the safeguarding and protection of all children and vulnerable adults.
About the Role
The Australian Province Secretary plays a central role in strengthening community connections and supporting effective communication across the Province. This is a diverse and rewarding position requiring a proactive, organised and relationship‑focused professional.
You will work closely with the Province Leader and Leadership Team, providing high‑level administrative support and contributing to the coordination of community engagement initiatives and the development of key organisational policies.
Key responsibilities include:
* Coordinating community events and gatherings
* Managing correspondence, documentation, and confidential records
* Facilitating communication between internal and external stakeholders
* Supporting policy development and organisational processes
* Providing general administrative and operational support to the Province Leader and Leadership Team
About You
We are looking for a committed and compassionate administrator who is motivated by purpose‑driven work and thrives in a dynamic environment.
You will bring:
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a secretarial, administrative or community‑focused role
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential
* Strong organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively
* Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
* The ability to collaborate and build trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders
* A self‑motivated mindset and comfort working in a fast‑paced environment
