Job Description
Amazon is seeking Maintenance Technicians to join our team at the Horsley Park site in Sydney. As a Maintenance Technician, you'll keep the site operating safely and efficiently by maintaining and repairing material handling equipment, automated packaging, and distribution machinery. You'll respond to breakdowns, perform preventative maintenance, and implement long‐term improvements to reduce downtime.
Schedule and Compensation
Permanent night‐shift positions, working Monday‐Thursday (10‐hour shifts × 4 days). These roles are entitled to annual leave and applicable penalty rates.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance on the full range of equipment within the site.
* Put health & safety best practices first in all work carried out.
* React quickly to breakdowns, communicate clearly with affected teams and work efficiently to fix the issue.
* Support continuous improvement by learning from breakdowns and sending feedback and suggestions for improvements through the line manager.
* Provide high levels of equipment availability to internal customers.
* Support and learn from Senior Maintenance Technicians.
A Day in the Life
RME Technicians are based on‐site, so they can respond quickly to any machinery issues. You'll carry out a range of planned preventative maintenance to ensure equipment is working safely. As an RME Technician, you'll also respond promptly to breakdowns, investigate, find, and implement solutions quickly. You'll make suggestions for long‐term improvements. Working alongside senior colleagues, you'll undertake day‐to‐day maintenance tasks and general building maintenance.

Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team keeps equipment performing at its best. We're a technically minded team, made up of excellent team players and guided by experienced leaders. We work together to maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment across our global network of fulfilment centres.
Basic Qualifications
* Formal trade qualifications: Certificate III in Electrotechnology with current electrical trade licence, or Certificate III in Engineering or Mechanical Trade (Fitter/Turner). Equivalent trade qualifications formally recognised in Australia are also acceptable.
* Experience with planned preventative maintenance systems.
* Experience fault‐finding within material handling equipment/automation systems.
* Ability to read and understand electrical / mechanical drawings.
* Experience with conveyor maintenance, motor controllers/inverters.
* Experience working to appropriate health & safety standards and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with CMMS systems.
* Experience with sortation machines.
* Experience with maintaining / configuring bar code scanners.
* Experience with print and apply machines.
