Epiroc Australia are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and organised Design Engineer basedin Perthwho is ready to own their scope and enjoy the benefits of working within a supportive team of subject matter experts.
As a Design Engineer, you will play an essential role in the Epiroc Performance Centre; bringing a variety of contributors and perspectives together to achieve a common goal.
Responsibilities of this role consists of but are not limited to the below:
* Review problem statements from internal and external customers
* Perform Root Cause Analyses and Design Failure Modes and Effects Analyses
* Design and deliver engineered design solutions for commissioned Epiroc machines
* Generate validation plans / test criteria for designed solutions
* Organise prototyping efforts and field trials
* Responsible for creating and maintaining drawings, BOMs (Bills of Material), and hydraulic/electrical schematics using 3D CAD design tool
* Release engineering changes through PLM systems
* Develop work instructions for installation/modification efforts in partnership with Technical Documentation Team
* Provide engineering support to internal customers (Product Support, Marketing/Sales, Technical Documentation, and others)
* Liaise with customers to review status and timeline for current and emerging projects.
* Develop continuous improvements to engineering processes and procedure.
The successful applicant must have:
* Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
* 5 + years mechanical design engineering experience
* Epiroc mining equipment experience preferred
* Strong experience with 3D CAD modelling/drawing software (CREO preferred)
* Hands on experience with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems (Teamcenter and Windchill preferred)
* Proficiency in engineering calculations, GD&T, and tolerance analysis
* Hydraulic and electrical system design and integration experience
* Strong problem-solving ability and trouble shooting skills
* Commitment to providing customer solutions
* Ability to handle and work under pressure
* Good report writing ability
