Regional Co-ordinator, Community Connections for PALM Workers

The Salvation Army is a Christian movement and one of Australia's largest and most-loved charities. We are seeking a passionate Regional Coordinator with a background in project management to join the team based in Alice Springs NT.
About the Role
The Salvation Army has been chosen to deliver the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme Community Connections Program for the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR). We are excited and grateful to be delivering this program with key partners, the Pacific Islands Council of Queensland, the NSW Council for Pacific Communities, and the Uniting Church in Australia, Synod of Victoria and Tasmania, all of whom have extensive expertise in supporting PALM workers in Australia.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with the National Co-ordinator-Community Connections and other stakeholders to map local networks, including Pacific Islands and Timor-Leste diaspora and South Sea Islander communities as well as community associations, clubs and church groups.
Assist to maintain national contacts directory.
Facilitate building relationships between local contacts and workers on the PALM Scheme.
Provide support to develop and translate community information and resources packs into appropriate languages.
Assist in the national development, dissemination and delivery of cultural competency information and resources for PALM Program stakeholders as appropriate.
Coordinate local contacts to attend on-arrival briefings and to make community events accessible for workers.
Liaise with local networks to gather information, good news stories and other relevant content for Community Connections e-newsletter, social media and other communications.
Document issues, challenges and emerging trends from the local level and communicate those to the National Co-ordinator.
Support the National Co-ordinator in program reporting, communications, project planning and evaluation.
