Bloom Early Education is a WA owned and operated childcare provider. Our mission is to raise the standard of early education and care for all children in WA. We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook/Chef to join our team at Bloom Early Education Dawesville. The Cook/Chef will play a crucial role in providing nutritious and delicious meals for the children in our service, ensuring they receive the energy and nourishment they need to thrive.

Responsibilities

* Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals and snacks for children according to Bloom Early Education's dietary guidelines and any specific dietary requirements or allergies.
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen area, following health and safety regulations and procedures.
* Monitor food inventory, order supplies as needed and ensure proper storage of food items.
* Collaborate with staff to accommodate special dietary needs and preferences of children.
* Engage with children during meal times, promoting healthy eating habits and positive mealtime experiences.
* Adhere to all food safety standards and regulations, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices.

Qualifications

* Previous experience working as a cook/chef in an early education setting or similar environment preferred.
* Knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements for young children.
* Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with staff and parents.
* Creativity and flexibility in menu planning to accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences.
* Current Food Handler's Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
* Must have or be willing to obtain Food Safety Supervisors Certificate.
* Genuine passion for working with children and contributing to their overall well-being.
