Genus is seeking a Civil and Structural Estimator to join our head office.
Genus Infrastructure delivers end‐to‐end solutions across the power and communications sectors, covering engineering, construction and maintenance. With a strong national presence and a growing pipeline of major infrastructure projects, Genus plays a key role in supporting the transition to renewable energy and the development of critical infrastructure across Australia.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for a range of civil and structural projects. You will review drawings, specifications and scope documentation, assess labour, plant, materials and subcontractor requirements, and build pricing that is both competitive and commercially robust. You will manage multiple tenders at once while working closely with internal stakeholders, subcontractors, suppliers and clients to support the successful delivery of high‐quality submissions.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for civil and structural works
* Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and scope documentation
* Analyse labour, plant, material and subcontractor requirements
* Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing
* Build and maintain estimating databases, cost histories and pricing schedules
* Work closely with operations and project teams to validate construction methodologies, productivity rates and pricing assumptions
* Attend tender briefings, review meetings and support commercial clarifications where required
* Ensure all tender submissions are accurate, compliant and submitted within required timeframes
About You
* Proven experience in a Civil and/or Structural Estimator position
* Strong background pricing civil infrastructure and/or structural construction projects
* Sound commercial acumen with the ability to identify risks, opportunities and pricing considerations
* High level analytical and numerical skills
* Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to tender preparation
* Experience using estimating software and strong Microsoft Office capability
* Ability to manage multiple tenders and competing deadlines
* Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across internal and external stakeholders
Requirements
* Valid C Class Driver's Licence
* National Police Clearance, or ability to obtain one
* Qualification in Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline is desirable
