Job Overview
The role involves leading and managing various policy, project and strategy initiatives that align with the Government's reform objectives for the Tasmania Fire and Emergency Service. A key focus is on supporting the delivery of a legislative review program targeting agency priorities.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Manage a program of legislative review and development, prioritizing the Fire Service Act 1979 and potentially other emerging legislative priorities.
* Develop and implement complex strategies and policies across the Department's breadth of work, underpinned by relevant research, investigation and analysis.
* Represent the agency as required, providing timely, relevant and authoritative policy and project advice on matters of strategic priority to the Department.
* Plan and manage the delivery of projects using appropriate governance, management tools and techniques to ensure milestones are achieved and outcomes delivered on time and within resource constraints.
* Prepare official correspondence, including minutes, briefing papers, reports and legislative materials as required.
* Establish and build productive working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective engagement and consultative processes are achieved within time constraints.
* Allocate and monitor the work undertaken by direct reports and/or project team members, ensuring clear expectations regarding proposed tasks, agreed standards of delivery, timelines and expected outcomes.
