Working collaboratively and cross-functionally with global and local teams the Quality Manager works to ensure the end to end product quality and reliability of Ultra Maritime Australia's (Ultra) products. Through the early involvement of quality management in all phases during development, verification, delivery and support, a significant contribution is made towards optimized quality and reliability. The quality manager is responsible to ensure the implementation and continuous improvement of a quality management system compliant with Ultra and customer requirements and certified to ISO 9001 standards.

What you will be doing....
- Contributing to the creation and implementation of best practice quality vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
- Supporting the implementation of policies and procedures in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintaining ISO 9001 Compliance through:

- Retention of appropriate records.
- Ensure compliance to Ultra processes and procedure.
- Ensure that all Quality Management System documents meet ISO 9001 requirements.
- Working with Project Teams to establish quality requirements for project execution including from external suppliers.
- Contributing to the product development process through:

- Participation in defining system requirements and risk mitigation plans when issues arise.
- Working closely with core development and operational teams (product development, engineering, marketing, supply chain, customers, suppliers, and support teams).
- Work with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing) teams to define process parameters and criteria to ensure product capability.
- Leading and coordination of task forces that drive timely issue resolution (defect identification, root cause investigation, implementation of solutions and participating in monitoring of product performance).
- Performing quality engineering review of designs and design documentation for compliance with agreed requirements.
- Directly supervising Quality Engineers, Continuous Improvement Specialist and ISO-9001 Quality Auditor.
- Gathering and analyse data related to the quality of products and services.
- Implementing Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Control Plans, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and oversee continued compliance to internal processes and procedures across the business.
- Leading collaborations with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, finance, program management and subcontract functional areas to ensure that quality standards are in place and are executed.
- Tracking and report agreed quality metrics.
- Developing and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.
- Working collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the quality strategy.
- Communicating with personnel at all levels, internally and externally to the company, in relation to quality matters.
- Maintaining a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.
- Playing an active role on quality management teams within the organization.
- Designing and implements quality assurance training programs for key personnel.
- Ensuring compliance with national and international standards and legislation.

Do you have...
- A Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
- A minimum 10 years of experience in design development and manufacturing environment.
- A minimum 7 years' experience in a Quality management role in an engineering environment.
- A minimum 2 years leading a strategic Quality organization for systems, processes, and products.
- Knowledge in design, manufacturing, quality and sustainment engineering as well as product configuration management.
- Knowledge of ERP systems & B.I. tools.
- Completed ISO 9001 Lead Auditor training by a recognised training organisation.
- Implementation of continuous improvement methods desirable
- Experience acting as a true first-level manager to ensure successful delivery of projects with little supervision, monitoring adherence to established development process.
- Experience using agile development methodology to successfully lead the team to meet milestones and timelines.
- Knowledge in all phases of the product life cycle.
