ResourceCo has a great opportunity for a Legal Counsel to join the team, based at their Head Office at Rose Park. This position offers a unique opportunity for a proactive and commercially minded legal professional to make a real impact at this dynamic and innovative environmental leader.
Key Responsibilities
* Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel and working with the General Counsel and Paralegal, you will be responsible for providing strategic and commercial legal advice across the whole ResourceCo Group in what is a fast‑paced and dynamic organisation within an evolving resource recovery sector.
* Under the supervision of the Senior Legal Counsel, you will work closely and directly with the CEOs, CFOs and Management of each entity within the Group to ensure that they are supported in their day‑to‑day corporate and commercial matters and to assist them in achieving their business objectives.
* In addition to the day‑to‑day conduct of general corporate and commercial matters, you will assist the Senior Legal Counsel and General Counsel across all legal areas including M&A, transactions, major project tenders, property, disputes, regulatory, environment, employment and new business.
* Assist the Legal function in preparing and delivering legal training to the officers and Group across all legal areas.
* Assist in managing corporate, property, litigation, risk and insurance registers.
* Assist in developing and disseminating legal updates using various media (other than emails!).
* Develop tools and precedents, and drive change, to help improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the legal function and to promote consistency and standardisation across the Group.
Qualifications and Experience
* Tertiary qualifications in Law.
* Approximately 1–2 PQE in medium/top‑tier private practice or in‑house role.
* Experience in corporate & commercial; transactional; energy and/or property law preferred.
* Dynamic, flexible, engaged, eager to learn.
* Advanced interpersonal and communication skills.
* Advanced organisational and planning skills.Self‑motivated, and have the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively.
* Enjoys fast‑paced environments.
* Be willing to travel as required.
