About the Role
As a Vehicle Body Building Apprentice, you'll gain hands-on experience in the construction, modification, and repair of heavy vehicle bodies and components.
This apprenticeship provides the skills and knowledge necessary to build and maintain transport equipment.
Duration: Full time, four year apprenticeship, combining on the job training and TAFE block release training
Location: Forrestfield, WA ****
Key responsibilities include:
Assist in the construction, modification and repair of heavy vehicle bodies, including dollies, trays, custom builds
Fit and install body components by welding and tack welding
Use hand and power tools to complete fastening, mounting and finishing tasks
Assemble chassis mounted structures and ensure correct alignments
Conduct quality checks to ensure vehicle bodies meet design specifications and safety standards
Follow all workplace health and safety procedures
About You
A strong work ethic, initiative, and willingness to learn
A genuine interest in developing a career within the trade area
Reliable transport and current driver's licence is desirable
Valid forklift ticket or willingness to obtain one
Basic to intermediate computer literacy
