Divisional Director, Surgical & Perioperative Services

LRH are recruiting for a key leadership role as The Divisional Director of Surgical & Perioperative Services, on a full time ongoing capacity. This role provides operational and strategic leadership to the Division whilst working in partnership with the LRH Executive and General Managers to ensure the delivery of contemporary multidisciplinary models of care and to oversee improvements in the clinical governance systems to support care provision.

This will also involve leading service developments and quality and efficiency improvements aligned to the achievement of priority outcomes and the delivery of key performance indicators and deliverables.

About you

Qualifications and requirements

* MBBS or equivalent essential.
* Fellowship with the RANZCOG or RACP.
* Management experience of a clinical service.
* Demonstrated clinical ability commensurate with that expected of a medical specialist with leadership responsibilities.
* Demonstrated management ability in clinical program development.
* Ability to communicate with patients and their carers with respect and empathy.
* Professional and personal integrity.
* Flexible and adaptable with organisational change, program needs and requirements.

LRH cares for a population of about 300,000 and is the regional provider of specialist services. Our catchment covers 42,000 square kilometres, from Phillip Island to Mallacoota in the far east of Victoria. LRH offers cardiac care, surgery, medical, renal, emergency care, aged care, women's and children's services, pharmacy, allied health and rehabilitation. Medical and radiation oncology are offered by the Gippsland Cancer Care Centre.

Now is an exciting time to join the LRH team, with the $223.5 million expansion completed in March 2024, offering improved maternity and paediatric facilities, larger intensive care unit, increased medical and surgical beds and additional operating theatres.
