About the role and team
We're looking for a Paralegal to join our Queensland Personal Injuries team on a part-time basis (ideally three days per week) for a 12-month contract. This role can be based at either our Maroochydore or North Lakes Offices.
As a key member of our team, you'll play an important role in supporting your region to ensure our valued clients files are progressing efficiently. You'll support our lawyers on personal injury matters, including workplace injuries and public liability cases. Your work will help ensure cases move forward expertly, smoothly and comply with all statutory obligations under relevant legislation.
* Draft and prepare legal documents, client correspondence, and procedural forms
* Manage key steps in the client file process, ensuring deadlines are met in a timely manner and compliance is maintained
* Correspond with clients regarding initial claim enquiries and obtain instructions
* Gather and review liability and quantum material, request additional documentation, and liaise with medical experts
* Develop an understanding of case strategies and contribute to efficient matter progression
The experience we are looking for
* Previous paralegal experience desirable but not essential
* Current Law students encouraged to apply
* Excellent organisational skills, with meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively
* A strong academic background and/or experience in conducting complex legal research and writing
* An understanding of our client base and the capacity to demonstrate empathy and compassion
* Demonstrated experience in using Microsoft Excel, updating databases, and/or manipulating data is advantageous
* Capability to prioritise tasks, adapt to a rapidly evolving environment, and demonstrate outstanding organisational skills
* A genuine passion for law and eager to contribute within a collaborative work setting
