Mental Health Education Consultant - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Youth.
* We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Education Consultant to join our team in Darwin or Alice Springs.
About the Role
This role sits within the Mental Health Education Program and complements the broader mental health initiatives in regional, rural and remote school communities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating workshops and providing mental health education sessions to school staff, students, parents and carers.
This program aims to build the mental health literacy and capacity of headspace centres, local services and wider school communities to implement evidence-based mental health promotion and early intervention.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you will need:
* A tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as mental health, education, community development, or training.
* Demonstrated experience in facilitating workshops and providing mental health education sessions with young people, families and professionals.
* Strong communication skills and ability to engage with a broad range of audiences.
* A sound understanding of the social and emotional wellbeing needs of young people, including mental health challenges commonly experienced within school communities.
* Demonstrated commitment to culturally safe and responsive practices, particularly in relation to First Nations young people and communities.
* Experience working with First Nations communities and stakeholders in the co-design and delivery of mental health education initiatives.
