About The Role
The Site Engineer on the Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP) will assist with the coordination of on-site construction engineering activities to ensure short-term planning and programming are completed in conjunction with site supervision.
Responsibilities of the role include;
* Ensure compliance of the works with technical specifications, applicable legislation, approvals, and standards, and JHG SQE Risk Management process.
* Conduct and administer overall job planning and programming, including short-range and intermediate activities for construction projects, for approval by the Project Manager.
* Input information and undertake minor design on site, monitor, and recommend changes to design details to increase ease of construction.
* Exercise professional judgment in resolving engineering issues, such as construction methods, design, engineering procedures, etc.
* Demonstrate financial management skills, including reducing costs and meeting budgets.
* Verify subcontractors' claims and variations.
* Implement and communicate risk controls and actions involved in project delivery and implementation.
* Report on project performance, compliance, defects, and non-conformance.
* Undertake safety, environment, and quality risk assessments to ensure acceptable quality of structures and finishes.
What we are looking for;
* Construction management and technical skills relevant to the program of work and discipline area.
* Experience in planning, development, and review of complex projects.
* Implementation of audits and schedule processes.
* Skills in document and record management, progress, and performance reporting.
* Risk assessment and monitoring of risk controls in project delivery.
* Proficiency in relevant software: Microsoft Suite; Primavera 6 (advantageous), Aconex, etc.
* Strong communication skills, including facilitating meetings and basic cost control skills.
