The role
The Role As a Laboratory Technician at ALS, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our testing processes. Your responsibilities will include conducting analyses in line with quality standards, identifying anomalies in samples, organizing tasks to optimize workflow, and ensuring deadlines are met. You will also calibrate and maintain equipment, manage laboratory consumables, maintain a clean and sterile workspace, and perform calculations as needed.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of laboratory techniques, knowledge of laboratory safety practices, and excellent organizational skills. One year’s relevant experience (a degree or diploma) is preferred.
The day to day
- Preparation and analysis of environmental samples
- Ensuring that preparation and analytical procedures and associated tasks are conducted in accordance with ALS Quality Work Instructions
- Organising designated tasks to maximise daily efficiencies
- Completing all tasks within both the timeframe set by the Supervisor and the relevant analysis standard
- Highlighting anomalies in results and sample type/behaviour
The essentials
The Essentials The Laboratory Technician should possess:
- One year’s relevant experience (a degree or diploma preferred).
- High level of attention to detail, good communication and organisational skills
- Understanding of good laboratory practices
- A high level of computer literacy
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Great time management
