Communications Officer (Marketing) needed for a Victorian Council

**Your new role**
- Provide media and issues management through various methods including public relations and media relations.
- Provide strategic communications advice to senior management and Council.
- Develop and implement effective communications and advocacy campaigns that increase the positive profile of the organisation and raise public understanding of programs and services.
- Manage design and production of publications, brochures and other Council promotional material
- Corporate writing including media releases, speeches, Moving Ahead page and Mayor/CEO messages.
- Support the active management of Council social media channels, including posting and responding to comments.
- Assist with the department's administrative, office management and other communications functions, including editing, advertising, corporate branding management, photography and website maintenance, when required.
**What you'll need to succeed**
- Developing and implementing effective communications campaigns
- High standard writing, proofreading and editing
- Experience working with or in the media and providing sound media relations and communications advice
- Competency in social media and digital platforms
- Computer literacy and ability to use a range of computer software packages
