Position Profile: The Nurse Practitioner – Next Step Services provides an advanced clinical service working both autonomously and in collaboration with other health professionals to diagnose, treat and manage a patient's health status in accordance with National legislation.
The Nurse Practitioner performs advanced physical assessment, orders diagnostic tests, interprets the results of these tests, initiates referrals to relevant health providers, and prescribes appropriate medications and other therapies as needed.
The Nurse Practitioner provides clinical leadership and consultancy to medical, nursing and allied health care professionals within Next Step Services.
The Nurse Practitioner practices within their scope of practice considerate of the Nursing and Midwifery Board's Nursing Practice Decision Flowchart.
Ongoing credentialling to a scope of specialty practice is a requirement for all nurse practitioners.
Next Step Next Step is the leading government drug and alcohol treatment service in Western Australia providing a range of clinical services.
The treatment services provided by Next Step include: Outpatient services at East Perth and via integrated Community Alcohol and Drug Services at six metropolitan locations The Inpatient Withdrawal Unit at East Perth An onsite pharmacy service based at East Perth Outpatient and inpatient youth services via the Integrated Drug and Alcohol Youth Service.
